Soul Care Sunday | Self-Reflection Time

Welcome to Soul Care Sunday! Sundays are great for soul searching and reflection. Take some time out of your week to search your soul and reflect & learn from this previous week.

Mediation is an amazing way to take some time out for yourself as well pence over events of the past week/month or whatever is weighing on you. Find a safe space for an hour or so and let your mind be clear.

“Put your ear down to your soul and listen hard.” ~Anne Sexton

Whether meditation is your gig, or yoga, or soaking in the tub, do it and take some time for yourself to recharge. This is how you are able to put some light back into the world and make positive things happen.

Self Reflection & Soul Searching

I've had some thought provoking in-depth conversations this week with people I haven't chatted with in a while. Since coming back from my Social Media break last summer/fall, it's been a struggle finding time to get back online & engage. It's funny when you take yourself away from something you are so used to being a piece of you, how unleashed you can actually feel. It's nice to take a step back once in a while and with everything I had going on in 2020, I just needed some time to find me again.

I'm about to sound like I'm up on a soap box here but really, these are the things I have been thinking about this past week, month, well throughout my entire life. lol. I swear I don't mean to sound accusatory; I am literally just writing about the things I have been thinking about lately. Seriously, just clear your mind and let the peace take over. (#yoga #mediate) My favorite time to do this is while driving and listening to music or as of late, I've found cooking is a brilliant way to let go of worries. So go ahead and make yourself some meatballs and self-reflect.

Taking time out during the week to reflect back on events has become an essential activity in the week for my mental wellness & growth. It can bring you peace, realizations, help you solve issues, and just help you grow as a person. Think about things like how to improve yourself, what kind of person you want to be vs. what you are now and how you can evolve to continually grow. Try to focus on the positive aspects of the week and celebrate those. Be grateful for what you have. Even if you feel you have nothing to be thankful for because everything is going wrong, start with being thankful for a roof over your head and food on your plate. Not everyone in the world has these things but it's a great place to start if you do. You can also add hashtags (#thesecret #gratitute #givethanks) throughout your posts to reach more people, and help visitors search for relevant content.

I think about things like "What can I do to make the world a better place?" How can I better myself? "What kind of person do I want to be?" "Am I that person and if not, what can I do to change in a positive direction to fix these things?" Try stepping into someone else's shoes. Remember if you read a post you disagree with, maybe instead of responding, just keep scrolling. Is it really worth your time and attention? Maybe remind yourself that you don't know what that person's experiences have been, so how can you judge how that person feels about something. Of course there are legit issues to stand up for and you should absolutely stand up for what you truly believe in. However, maybe keep in mind love, kindness, and understanding win over all. In a world full of controversy, can't we find a common bond and come together as human beings and treat each other with respect?
